Greg Steele is an audio engineer, music producer and musician based in Melbourne, Australia. His specialties and primary areas of focus are sound design and mixing.

Having studied sound production at RMIT, he went on to intern at Boomtracks in post production sound under the tutelage of Paul Pirola, performing sound effect recording and sound editing duties on feature films such as Wolf Creek 2 (2013) and Is This The Real World (2015).

Leaving Boomtracks in 2014 to pursue his own music career, Steele moved to Berlin and co-founded record label Another Dark Age with Sanjay Fernandes. It was in Berlin he further honed his sound design and production chops, culminating in his 2016 release Benzedrine, under the moniker Tackle. The titular track was ranked number 20 in Resident Advisor’s top 50 tracks of 2016.

After returning to Melbourne, Steele started Steele Audio in 2016 to focus his mixing talents into a dedicated business. Credits include mixes for Ara Koufax, Concentration and Nerve on labels such as DFA, Global Terror Corps and Common Thread.

Sound design credits include work for Greenpeace, GetUp!, ZeroCo, ewe care, NSW Education, The Greens, Seed Mob and SAE, among others.

He released his second Tackle record, Grondman, in 2017 on the A Colourful Storm label.
